Finally an update!

I ended up getting home from work a little early today, and Brent has the kids over in Brigham with him for Tanners soccer clinic that he is doing every day this week....... SOOOO...... I jumped at the chance to update you on our crazy lives.

A few weeks ago our GREAT FRIENDS Mike and Brittney from Ohio came to visit. We always love when they come out. We don't get to see them enough! My kids just love them, And unless they are lying they like my kids too! We got to spend two days with them. We got together at our house one evening and visited, the next day we all met Curtis and his kids at Fredrico's for pizza. Mike loves pizza and we always meet there or Papa Kelsey's for food. After pizza we all went to our house and played pin ball, pool, wii and visited. Thanks Mike and Brittney for sharing your vacation with us. We love you!

We took the kids for a hike on afternoon. Brent and the boys kept gathering wild flowers for Meg to wear. We had a great time. I love to hike. I love to be outdoors and with my family!

Last weekend we caught up with Josh and Jen. Tanner and Landon spent the day with Josh pulling weeds to earn some money. Megan spent the day with Jen making suckers and fixin the boys drinks. When we went to pick the kids up they invited us to join them boating. The water was very very cold and it really was not that warm outside... but we had a break in the clouds for that day and took advantage. The kids were brave and got in to swim around. Josh took the kids out on the boat for a ride. About 30 min after we got there the storms caught on and decided to ruin our fun. The skies truned black and thunder rolled. We are looking forward to a time we can really get into the water and have a great time.

Sorry to my blog readers!

I am sorry it has been so long since I have updated. I have recently been training on new computer work at my full time job, and two weeks ago took on a second part time job. I have been very busy. When I do get home I am kind of worthless. I have been trying to still see the kids and spend time with them. I still get on and read others blogs for a break for a few minutes, but then can't seem to find the time to post on my blog. Anyway, I hope that all the new training will come to an end soon and maybe I'll be back to blogging. Until then.... thanks for updating your blogs and giving me an out!

Smithfields own Natural Disaster

On Wed June 2nd, We had a crazy storm that hit mostly just Smithfield. We had rain that was coming down in sheets, and hail that looked like the pea ice you get at sonic, along with lightning and thunder. I truly have never seen a storm like this before. The lightning hit about every 3 seconds. The sky looked like a strobe light. We were watching all the craziness when Brent started yelling at me that he needed help. Our basement was flooding with water in three different spots. Brent and Tanner started to bail the water out of our window wells while Landon and I sucked up the water from the inside with our carpet cleaner and put towels in the windows. We would just get done and think we were safe and it would fill again and start coming in all over again. I think that I emptied the tank to my carpet cleaner about 20 times. We then started to go to the neighbors homes and help them. Many of the neighbors around us had window wells filling up, some like us had some water get into the house, and two very unlucky neighbors had their window broken out by the force of the running water and mud, and lost most everything in their basements. We are very grateful we only had a little bit to deal with and ended with just having to have our carpets cleaned. I heard the next day that Smithfield had and inch and a half of rain in 45 minutes, with Hail. I think it was the hail that made it so bad, clogging the drain systems. Several of our friends said that they were driving on main street and there was so much water in blew the man hole covers off and was shooting water three feet in the air on the road. I also heard that there were over 20 homes that had severe damage. It was defiantly an experience. One I don't want to have again! One of the saddest things to me was my plants. We have spent many hours planting our veggie garden and in our flower garden. I was so proud of my Iris's in full bloom and I had the biggest prettiest bleeding heart... They are all dead... Gone!! No bloom left on any of my plants. The veggie garden in all but washed away. Brent basically took my bleeding heart down to its roots because it was so beat up. I morn my plants!

The rain gutters were full and overflowing. This water was just beating down on my flowers. I took this picture with a very very slow shudder speed to be able to see the water flow.

This is not nice snow flakes. Again, slow shudder speed to catch the fast falling balls of ice we call hail.

UP!!!

On Sunday we took the kids to see the movie UP! I have to say.... I loved this movie. I really enjoy a movie that can make you laugh and cry and entertain the kids.... without being rated R. This movie had all of these things in it. Way to go Disney! I would recommend this one to everyone! We did pay more to see it on the 3D screen... This I would say you don't need to do. There was not enough 3D stuff to make the extra money worth it... but over all I give UP!! A Big thumbs UP! :)

Kohl's Cup

Last Saturday Landon, Kyler (his cousin) and Ryan (his friend) joined a group of Rec soccer players that they had not played with before and were on a team the was put together by Allan Haycock (Tanners soccer coach) and played in the Kohl's Cup tournament in Hyrum. It was an all day tournament. The boys were guaranteed three games. And if they won enough games they would play for first or second place. They did such a great job. These boys really tried hard. They won first place in their devision and played in the play off game later in the evening. The play off game ended in a loss of 5 to 4. It was such a close game. I am so proud of these boys for taking a buch of boys that had not played together and playing like a team. Great job boys. They got thier first trophies for 2nd place overall! Thanks for the fun!
