A little bit of snow!

Well, as many of you know it started snowing Christmas morning... and did not quit... for a long time. The morning after Christmas we were heading up to the cabin. This is what we had to dig out of before we could even leave the driveway! Wow! More than 11 inches in 24 hours. Brent and Tanner had done the drive way Mid day on Christmas day...that took them about an hour, and it took them 2 1/2 hours to get this done less than 24 hours later.

Christmas Day

This year all three of the kids got a Nintendo DS. They were all very excited. I was a little concerned that Meg would not be so impressed. But as you can see... she thought it was pretty exciting. That may have to do with her getting hers after the boys had gotten theirs. If they were so excited I should be too... right?? Well, We had a wonderful Christmas. Brent and I were slight on the present side this year. We decided to invest our money into another toy or two and they did not fit under the tree. We have gotten two snowmobiles. I don't have a picture because..... technically I don't have mine yet. But you can see a picture of Brent sporting his on Rae's blog... We have bought me a sled but it is having some work done and of course that always takes longer than you plan for. We are hoping to have for new years day. I'm sure I will post some fun pictures of us playing with them.

Christmas Eve

This year we decided to get the kids some new PJ's and give them to them on Christmas Eve. I don't know if it will become a annual tradition, but it was fun this year. Tanner was hyped up all day. We almost had to send him away. All the kids were very excited for Christmas to finally come. We got Pizza, and baked cookies for Santa. The kids ate what they could of them, and set some out for the big man before heading off to bed.

An Early Christmas

We had our Christmas party with Peggy, Kristen, Steph and Joel, and the boys early this year. We really had a had time finding a time that we could all get together. The kids got completely spoiled of course. Tanner got an Ipod docking station, Landon a rip stick and Meg... well, anything you can think of princess. I decided that we did not need Santa to come to our house after all of that!

We had a great time with the family, and were very glad that we could all see each other and spend some time together. We love you!!!

Funny things.....

The other day Brent, Meg and I were driving into town. It was dark and the Stars and Moon were out. She was so cute... She says "I love those pretty things" They are stars Meg. "I love starts and I love that tiny sun!"

Landon said to Tanner last night, "Look what I can do" and tried to jump from the couch over the rebound net in our basement. Well, His feet were not on the same page as his brain. They caught on the bar and his face met a box on the ground. After blood and tears... He had a big fat lip.

Tis the Season

We decided last week to gather our Christmas decorations. When we moved into our new house we bought a new tree. I spent a mint on tree decorations that I love. Well, when we got them out this year I was surprised to find that Brent and the kids really did not like my old Tree. Brent decided that we should redecorate. The kids wanted to put their Sponge Bob, Scooby, Disney ornaments on my tree. They really did not work with the look I was going for. We spent the day and went to Sams. We bought some new decorations that would work. We put up the tree and all their decorations. The boys told me that their tree was soo much better than my tree. I like it but I don't know. Maybe we will have to trade off every other year.

Yummy! Smarshamallows!

We finally put together the fire container that Peggy gave us for Christmas two years ago. The boys had been begging for a fire in our backyard. Brent took them out and got a good fire going.... and nothing goes better with a fire than Smarshamallows! Everyone loved the Smores! Especially Meg! She had three whole smores! It was a fun night as a family!

Real Salt Lake

Last Weekend we took the boys to the RSL Championship playoff game. We had a lot of fun. Landon was so happy and excited throughout the game. Both the boys loved how you were supposed to bang things together and be as loud as you possibly could. It was cold but we were able to enjoy the game and warm up with some hot chocolate. Before the game we stopped at the soccer store in SLC and scored on some good deals for Tanner some gear and then had dinner with Joel and Steph. It's always fun to see them. It was a great day. Thanks to Melissa for watching Meg and saving us and her from the pain it would have been to try to have her with us. When we were leaving the stadium Landon said "This is one of my best days ever!" That makes it great. After the game the bus line was sooooo long we decided to walk back to the car. Tanner found a small girl crying, she was lost! We helped her to find her dad. On the way back to the car there was some sick guy peeing right there in public. That kinda put a damper on things for me. What a jerk to ruin my night. I hoped that would not be the point of the kids story when telling about the night. We got back to the car and the boys were out before SLC, I was out near the canyon. Luckily for us Brent could stay awake.

Meg was such a funny that day! Brent hid the camera so she did not know it was there. She sang on and on for about an hour!

Tanner can Fly!

Tanner competed in his first swimming meet of this year, last weekend. I was such a proud mom. He puts forth 100% all the time. His first swim was the 50 Butterfly. He did such a great job. His personal best is 45.80. His time for this meet was 46.08. I thought that was great considering he has only been back in the pool for just over one month. He took first place out of eight boys. This is the hardest stroke for the kids to learn. If you have ever tried to do it, then you know how difficult it is.

He is a little Michael Phelps.

50 Free beating his personal best that was 40.70 and swimming it in 37.99.
100IM in 135.43
100 Back in 134.14
and the 100 Breast in 149.33

He really did a lot for one meet. Most kids Tanners age don't swim a lot of the 100's. They prefer the 50's. Tanner I am so proud of you!

Thanks to Kristen and Grandma Peggy

Last weekend Kristen came down to our house and stayed with our kids to that Brent and I could get away and go to SLC with Drew and Rae. Kristen stayed here with the kids while they finished out their week of school. On Friday Megan got the Flu. Kristen had to do homework, pack the kids, take care of Megan and get them to Idaho falls for the rest of the weekend. When the kids got up to Grandma's Kristen taught Tanner to ride a horse, and prepared Megan and Landon to ride with her. The next day they all got to participate in a horse show with Kristen. Grandma got their Halloween costumes ready for them to wear on to the show. Kristen lead the little ones with them on the horse. Landon got first place. Tanner had to ride on his own. He got sixth place out of sixteen kids who ride all the time. I was very proud of them. They had so much fun. They also ate great food. Shrimp! Yep! They always get spoiled up there. They made the cute pumpkins that are on our front porch in the pictures with the Mr. Potato head faces. Landon also ended up getting the flu on Sunday while with them. Thanks again for being such a great aunt and great grandma. We love you both! Sorry about the sick kids. We had such a great time with Drew and Rae. You can check out some pics of our trip on Rae's blog! We really loved our time together with them.

Another black scary thing!

For the last three years Tanner has been a black scary thing. I think boys just want to be scary when they get a little bigger, and black and scary work together. This year Landon, Carson, and even Adam also followed suite. Megan was a Pegacorn. Well, that is what Brent called her. She was not quite a Pegasus and not quite a Unicorn, she was a Pegacorn. Curtis and Josh, Melissa and her kids, and Melissa friend Gaylene and her girls came to romp the neighborhood with us. Tanner and Landon had decided that they were to big for their own pants and had to go out with their friends. This was the first year we have let them go without us. They were good kids, followed the rules, and stayed within the neighborhood. They did have a little fun scaring some of the neighborhood girls. The little ones really had a lot of fun this year. It was unbelievable how warm it was. For the first time ever, Megan was complaining that she was hot... not cold. Grandma came out after work to see the kids. They are always so happy to see her. Megan had torn off the Pegacorn outfit my now, and was Cinderella. We could not get her to change again. All in all we had a fun time!

What I did last night!

Yesterday I got the call! Yep! We have been waiting for Steph to have her baby, yesterday was her Due date and Yesterday after a long day... She had Cody Brent Mason. Isn't he cute. I got home at 2AM and got up at 5:30AM. I am very tired but wanted to put on some pictures. I will put many more on Stephs blog if you want to jump on over to hers. I was so proud of Steph and Joel. He is perfect!

Our Weekend!

So after Brent spent two weekends hunting during his hunt. He decided that he needed to go hunting with Joel. (My brother in law) Well, We headed down to Joel and Steph's house on Friday. It was cool! It gave me a chance to go down and hang out with Steph! Anyway... Brent, Joel and Tanner got up early opening morning. Before it was even light Tanner shot himself a Grouse. I think that's how you spell it. They waited a bit longer and then here came their buck they had been waiting for. Joel took a shot.... and another..... and another.... Brent said he took a fourth but Joel denies that! Yep, you guessed it.... little Bucky ran over the hill and some other Joe in orange got to shoot him! Sorry, Joel!! Have to give ya crap when I can. They went up again the next day but to no avail... No deer! Tanner got another birdie the next day!!

Steph and I had our own adventure! On Saturday afternoon we decided to take the kids to this Harvest Fest in Payson! We got them all buckled in and headed out!!! Well, good thing I got gas! Steph knows directions like her mommy!!! We got pretty far south.... past Payson.... and then decided to go west..... looking for the address..... well, after we had passed orchards... farms... and went all the way around Utah lake... we decided we were definitely lost. I thought for a minute... here I am with Landon, Meg, Parker and a nine month pregnant women!!! Lost.... very lost!! All we could do was laugh at ourselves. Lost.... very lost!! After 45 min of driving we came to some sort of town.... and we finally found the Harvest Fest! The kids painted a craft, and went in to pet the baby cow that was five days old. Landon let the cow suck on his fingers. Megan thought that it was pretty funny the cow wanted to suck on her fingers like a binkie. They had a good time... and Steph and I had a good laugh!!!







We topped off the weekend with a Birthday Party for Parker. We made a crazy looking bean dip that was supposed to look like a skeleton head... but looked like squidward, Witches Brew (home made root beer), and mummy hot dogs. They turned out Cute! It was fun to spend the weekend with them and play before this SWEET BABY CODY FINALLY DECIDED TO COME!

Grocery Smarts!

So about a month ago I went to a home class on Grocery Shopping. I had heard of "pinching you pennies" before but I thought it was to much time for the benefit. Well, this class was "Grocery Smarts". I was telling the girls about it at scrapbook, and I told them I would post about it so they could all do it if they wanted so here ya go.

When you go onto that page you will need to put in a code: the Utah code is g84css

After it will have a drop down bar in the middle. You select the store you want to go to. There is a red box in the upper right after you select your store that says Start.... click on this and scroll down. There are stars to the left of the items on sale. You really only care about the red four and five star deals. They are good and great deals. A three star is about what you would pay at walmart all the time. Anyway.... Click on the items that you think you want to buy. The color should change slightly if you have pushed the start button showing you have this item selected. When you have selected all the items you want to buy.... you go back to the top and select the Shrink button. It should shrink your list to only the things you want to buy....

Next to the description of the item is the price it is now. Then there is a column that is were you can find the coupon. Most of these coupons come on Sunday in the news paper. A lot of people will get five papers on Sunday to get more coupons. I collect them from work. Anyway, You can save the ones you get and only have one and try the online coupons or call your paper. When you get them out on Sunday.... DON'T CLIP THEM!!! Just write the date on top with a black marker and put away in cronilogical order in a file box.

When you look on the site. It will look like this.

This means that you can buy and of these candy bar bags, 9.5oz or larger. They are on sale for 1.66 and you would look at the Red Plum coupons you recieved on 10/12/08 and 9/28/08 ( both coupons expire on 10/21/08) and clip only the coupons you need for these candy bars. The coupon is save $1.00 on Two bags. Count your coupons. Say you have five coupons. That means that you can buy 10 bags and save 5 dollars. The final price you would pay is 1.16 a bag. That is much cheaper than even the big bags at Sams Club for Halloween candy.

If you don't want to collect coupons, sometimes you can print them. There would be a link next to the item so send you to where you can print them.

Anyway... Then you take your shrunk up printed list and write out to the side of each item how many of them you need. Take your list and only the coupons that you have clipped or printed to the store. Go through you list pick up the number of items you have and check out. If they are out of the product you can get a rein check. Hand ALL of your coupons to the casheir. Even the ones you know you did not get anything for. When she runs them through they will beep taking the money off.... you will hear a different beep when she get to the thing you did not buy... this reminds you to get a rein check for that item.

Anyway, I have saved a lot of money! It has helped to stock up my food storage! A few things to remember! Don't buy what you wont use! Unless it's free! Yes, about once a week there will be an item or two that are free.

Albertson's and Smiths have the most selection and often the best deals.

Last week Kmart had double coupon day. The doubled the amount of money the coupon is worth. When I went to check out my bill was about 220.00 after all my coupons I paid 37.00!!!

Slacker!

So, I have been slacking on the blogging thing as of late I know. I talked to Melissa the other day and she lectured me, that I needed to make a new post! Well, at least I have a blog Mel! JK

Anyway, we have been running around crazy. Brent took the week off work to get out of bed at four AM, and drive for an hour or two int he truck wasting gas, to get out and go hike around in the snow for hours and freeze and then come home to do it all over again. I think most people call it Hunting. But, I thought you were supposed to bring home some dead animal after all of that if you are hunting. Bless his heart! He has been hunting every year since we started dating 15 years ago and I have yet seen him bring home a poor dead animal. I am glad! There is no way I am eating the thing!

I also started taking a class at Bridgerland. Photoshop! It is fun. Seems that It takes ever spare second (few and far between) just to clean a little and run agian.

We finally had Tanners last soccer game. They are still going to practice once a week as long as they can. We are going to a tournament the weekend of Thanksgiving in St George. And Indoor starts soon. I love to watch him play, and It is my sport of choice. But I am sick of soccer! Both the boys started back to swimming. I like that because it is close and they can ride their bikes.
