Vegas Baby!!

Last weekend Brent and I got to take Tanner to St. George. He had a soccer tournament down there. We were lucky enough to drop Landon at Robyn's, and Megan and Stephanie's. (Thank you, Thank you!) On the way down, back and in between we listened to Inkheart... We are now ready to see the movie. We got down there on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by the sun. We were expecting rain and cold..... via the weather report. The boys lost their first two games that day. It was sad... They dominated the ball, had possession most of the time... but could not get it in the goal. The other two teams got lucky with a goal and they lost both games 1:0. On Sunday we had the day to ourselves. Tanner decided he wanted to go to Vegas. I am not sure what reason was stronger: The promise of a great buffet or getting to see the unkown. Anyway, when we were really close to Vegas we decided to drive to see Hoover Dam. None of us had ever been there. We had a good time there. It was a fun site to see... at least once in your life. We got back to Vegas at about 1:30 and walked and watched for hours and hours. Tanner loved Vegas. He was a trooper to keep up with all the walking after just a long day Saturday. His favorite part was the Valcano at the Mirage. I always love the water to music at the Bellagio. We got Landon and Meg a gift at the M&M store. We ate at the buffet in the Mirage. Tanner was in Heaven.... His favorite place to eat is Golden Corral. Thank goodness this buffet was a huge step up from that. He ate and ate... went to the bathroom and ate some more. Good thing... he made it worth paying for. The next day they played another game. They played a team that beat us in the fall... We were victorious. It was good to leave with a win. We had a great time. It really was a fun experience to go with just Tanner. I think we need to try to do an alone get away with Landon and then Meg when she is a little bigger. Here are some pictures and a video clip of our fun.....It was really hard to get a view of everything. It was all so big. Down at the bottom of this picture are trucks and large poles. They would be very big if you were down there. It made you dizzy to look down the wall from the top.

They are currently building this HUGE bridge. This is one side that they will be lifting up to meet the other side. It was neat to see how they were doing it. Modern Marvels Hu???

Like T's shirt? Some Lady walked by and asked me how cheap I was. At first I was not sure if I should be offended or what. Then I remembered Tanners shirt :)


You can just barely see Tanner and I on the bridge. It really was Huge! This is the small side! As big as this bridge looks..... It will be TINY compared to the new one they are building.

Old Fart!

Landon had his 100th day of school last week. They dressed up like old men. This picture makes me laugh because this is just how I picture Landon as an old man. Grumpy!!!

Yet another bragging moment for Mr. T

Last weekend we spent Four hours on Friday and Four hours on Saturday morning at the pool at Mt. Crest! Why??? To watch Tanner swim a total of 9 events. He cut time off of every event. From 3 to 12 seconds off (that's quite a bit). He has made it to the senior team on the Logan Gator Swim Team and has really improved. He took Second place over all for all Ten year old boys. This was a huge meet with boys from SLC to Idaho Falls. Great Job Tanner! We are very proud of you!

Tanner getting his Weblos and Arrow of Light

This evening Tanner received his Arrow of Light and his Weblos award. I cannot believe that he will be eleven in five days and be in Boy scouts and not cub scouts. I cannot be that old! (don't comment on that) I am very proud of Tanner. He is very responsible and has worked hard to obtain this award. I am grateful for such a fine young man as my son! I love you T!! Your awesome! I also need to give a shout out to all of Tanner wonderful scout leaders. They truly are the reason that he got here. Tanners most recent scout leader in my neighbor Nylyn. She really has gone above and beyond in helping Tanner to obtain this goal. Thank you to all the special people in our lives that help us to raise our kids.

Computer Complications leading to fun times????

Last Saturday we went down to Robyn's house. Scott and Robyn were helping us to move over all our info from our hard drive to an external hard drive. Yes, we are having our six month complication with our computer. I don't know what it is that we do... but we seem to always have something going wrong. Well, this time we have to send it back to Gateway to get fixed. I went about three days without the computer and decided that I would have to buy a lap top to get us by until the other computer got back. After we got all the info transferred over we went to dinner at The Texas Roadhouse. We had a lot of fun. It was the first time we had been there. Since it was so close to T's Birthday we had them give him a "YEEE HAAAH!" as he sat on their funny little wooden hoarse saddle. This pic was taken by my cell phone. After Colby talked us all into going to play laser tag with him. We all played even Meg. It was a lot of fun. Thanks again Robyn and Scott for your help and the fun!!!

A sledding day!

Drew and Rae, Bent and I took all the kids sledding. We really had a great time. I was impressed by all the kids. They all were very brave on the big hill we went to. Drew was a great sport. He jumped right on and went down with the kids.



Most of the day we cheated and used the snowmobiles and the big black sled to haul the kids back up the hill. Brent really thought we needed to let them hike the hill to wear them out for the day.

Meg and Lena were so brave. They both went down the hill several times, at first we thought there might be tears, but when I got down there to pick them up... They both said... I want to do that again.

I look Lena down on the little sled. We ended up going down backwards and then took a little roll down the hill. We decided to walk back up. Really... I am not sure I could have done that all day.




There were a few good wrecks that day. I think everyone had one. But the wreck of the day went to Robbie. We attempted a train at the top of the biggest hill. We put Rob up front, then Landon, Tanner and finally Drew. When they started Drew was heavy enough ( no offense Drew) that the whole train circled around and they were all going backward in the opposite order. Well, Rob got bumped off near the top... so he climbed back up and jumped on the little red sled. I sent him off and he got some great speed. He was on his tummy and he hit a good bump. He went head over tea kettle four times. Really, He turned his whole body over four times. I have to admit it did scare me and I was glad the Rae did not see him. When I got down to him, He was crying but only because his helmet was packed full of snow. Sure enough, after a minute to get it out of his system he was off and sledding again. Way to go Robbie!!!





It was such a fun day. I am so glad that we have been doing things to enjoy winter. I usually get very sad and depressed in the winter. I am happy we have been out enjoying it. Anyone want to go???? Put on a comment and lets play!!!

Oh! How I love the Cabin!!!!

Sorry, It has been a long time since I have posted.... It is because we have been to busy playing. So get yourself prepared. I am going to throw it at you all at once. Lots of pictures too!!

We have been to the cabin Three weekends since the week before Christmas. The week before Christmas we went with my brothers and sisters. The week after we went with Scott and Jodie bishop and their boys. Then last week we went with Drew and Rae, and Josh and Jen Synikin came up too.

First weekend with My family. We had a lot of fun playing out in the snow, eating and visiting. It is always fun to see my family and no greater place than the cabin. Poor Lena got the flu while we were up there. Luckily, as far as I know. No one else got it from her.


I love my sisters.... Don't know what I would do without them.


Landon thought that he would show off his muscles! Poor child :)


Uncle Drew is always in for a good beat down!! So are the kids!


There is nothing better than a cousin. I grew up with all of my cousins in the cabin and I am so grateful that my kids will remember these wonderful times with their cousins also.









These pictures bring back childhood memories for me. When I was little we could sled off the Cabin roof. Since the addition to the cabin that has not been possible. Instead the kids decided to sled of the roof of the shed at the cabin. They played out there and had a lot of fun for about an hour. After a while the bridge of snow that connected the snow on the roof to the ground started to break up as you can see.

Tanner was good to help the little kids and take them for a ride. Lena only went one time and she was done. At least she was not sick!

So here is a special shout out to Grandpa and Grandma Izzy!!! Thank you so much for the family times that you have given us at the cabin. It is such a wonderful place to go, and so many wonderful memories have been and will continue to be made there. I love you!!

Bringing in the New Year!! 2009

New Years Day Brent and I, Drew and Rae went Snowmobiling up Monte Cristo. We were only able to be up there for just over an hour before I had to get back to be to work. We really had a great time while we were up there. We had spent half our time waiting at the snowmobile shop to get my new
sled... Ya, its been in the shop for over two weeks now. Anyway... It will be a lot of fun when we finally have it.. and can play. Thanks Drew and Rae for always being there and having some fun with us.



This is about to the point were we turned around to come back down. It was really stormy at the top. Wind and Snow!!



I got a new coat. You cant see it that well, But it has skulls and fun things on it. Tanner picked it out for me.

So.... I know that we should make a resolution every year! I guess that you can say this is one... but the sad thing is it has been my resolution for about 10 years now. Of course... It is to loose my fat!! Ya.. Your surprised I know!

I also want to:
Get better at using my Photoshop
Learn more about photography, and use it to become better
Have a better relationship with my hubby
Have a better relationship with Jen
Spend more quality time with my kids
And.... possibly get back to church more!!!

I think that is a pretty full plate for one year. I am sure that a few of those things will be on my list again next year also. But, As I told Stephanie
If you put all that on your blog... your going to have to do it... otherwise everyone will know when your not. So, I thought what better reason to have to do it. Now all you blog readers can keep me on task. When I am failing you can let me know, and I will have more reason to stay on the band wagon.

So here is to a new year. 2009! I hope that it is a wonderful year, full of blogging and friends, for all of you!
