The other day I came home from work and listened to my voice mail.
It was the principal of Landon's school. She left a message saying that Landon had been in her office that day and she would like to talk to me about what had happened.
The next day when I had a few moments at work I decided to get to the bottom of it....
Landon had walked up to the office and taken a piece of candy. Your supposed to turn in a ticket that you get for being good to take the candy. So the secretary asked him if he had turned in his ticket.
Well, Landon looked down at the ticket on the top of the bowel and it said Breann. The lady questioned him and he said.... No! It's Brendon!
She did not question him further and asked him to put his last name on the ticket, so he did.
Later Breann came looking for her ticket.
Well, Landon was then called into the principals office to discuss his lying.
She offered him and out! She told him that everyone makes mistakes but she needed him to tell her the truth.
Well, He did not take it! He kept right on lying!
He told her that his brother Brendon had told him to turn in the ticket. He went on and on..... The lie got so big that he ended up telling the principal that we had adopted a boy named Brendon in the fifth grade that was now his brother, that had given him the ticket and told him to turn it in for him.
Yes, all of this for a piece of candy!!
One thing that I have told my kids for a very long time!
I will forgive you for your mistakes, if you are honest with me! I HATE lying!
Well, My sweet tender hearted red head cried in her chair! The whole time he was telling his this ridiculous story!
I hope he has learned a lesson! If not..... he has a week of being grounded to think about it some more!
Brent laughed and laughed... Yes, One day it will be a bit funny, this story!
So I blogged this for you Landon! One day you will also have a child that will test you!!!!
